I know that this photoshoot will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was the first portrait session I held in San Diego. The bond between a mother and her child is an unrivaled love, and Aiesha and Ari were an amazing mother-daughter team in every respect. We had initially discussed doing this session on the beach in Balboa, but it was an unusually cloudy day in San Diego. Aiesha and Ari were flexible, and we were able to move the shoot to the equally beautiful Presidio Park.
Armed with my Canon 6D, a Sigma 50 mm f/2.8, and a UV filter, we started out the session with a few candids.
Ari was a natural model, posing gracefully against the stoic, white columns.
Aiesha's easy-going personality reflected in her photos with her natural smile and searching brown eyes.
The mother-daughter team was a blast to shoot, and the photos reflected their natural love for each other.
As the twilight set in, we stumbled upon a ginkgo tree that had set most of its leaves. Ari was comfortable enough to lay amongst the leaves, creating a gorgeous backdrop for a few fun shots.
I'm looking forward to my next session with this dynamic duo!
